Erin's first stitches!

My little girl had to get 3 stitches in her mouth tonight--Poor thing. She hit her mouth on the frame on a tramp this afternoon (don't feel bad Heather!) and it bled quite a bit and she cried a lot. After dinner when we looked at it, it looked horrible so off to InstaCare she and I went. She was SO brave and did really well. The doctor said that he has never come across a child that has ever done so well before. She never cried with the shots to numb her and she listened and held still. She was bubbily the whole time and sat up when it was done and told the doctor thank you! She did better at handling the situation than I did. :) You can't see the stitches in the picture obviously, but her mouth is very swollen and purple on the inside. I feel bad that my little girl is hurt, but she couldn't have been a braver, stronger, better girl tonight-she was even patient during the hour and a half we had to wait to even get into the examination room. She is an amazing creature! I love both of my girls. :)

Summer = Lemonade Stands

Well, Bailey has been bugging me about doing a Lemonade stand for a few months now-first started to ask back in Feb. when there was still traces of snow on the ground. :) Today the girls and I headed down to Londa's house to help my mom with a garage sale, and it was decided that this would be a perfect opportunity to get Bailey's fill of selling lemonade (at least for a little bit). Cassi, my niece, and Bailey made all the signs and sat there diligently for 3 hours selling lemonade and otter pops. They made a pretty good little profit for themselves, and they had fun doing it. Erin was the "lemonade dog" so she pretended to be a dog all morning and got a little profit for just being cute.

Speaking of Erin pretending to be a dog all morning, she spilled some of her candy on the sidewalk and was a bit sad about it. Londa and I assured her that she could just pick up the candy and still eat it, no big deal. Then Londa told her she could even lick it off the sidewalk so down Erin went to get the candy off like a dog! :) lol It was great, I wonder how many little bugs she managed to get too. My mom was wondering what we were teaching her. A little dirt never hurt anyone...

Bailey as mom

Today the girls were playing mom and baby. There was some argument as to whose turn it was to be the mom, and I guess Bailey won out today. It is funny to hear them interact as mom/child--and I hear a lot of what I say to them come out of their mouths (which can be disturbing at times! lol) Bailey came downstairs dressed up like this and told me that this is how mom's dress. Wow, I had no idea I should be looking like this everyday! Well, those are my boots so I guess at least I get the shoes right sometimes! :)

Visit from a Friend...

My friend, Teresa visited me today from Maryland. We get to see each other about once a year so I love it when she comes to town. We had a yummy lunch at Cafe Sabor (local Mexican place) and a nice visit together. The girls were attached to her quickly of course. Hopefully I'll get to see her again before she heads back East next week!

Hairdressers: Bailey and Erin

Busy posting day, huh? :) On Sunday the girls did each other's hair--with every barrett and clip in their bathroom! Bailey did Erin's hair, and it looks like she has a helmet of metal! We probably could have received radio stations from the amount of metal on her head! Such cute girls, they both told each other over and over again how beautiful they each looked. And again today, Erin's hair is already done again like this, as well as her bear's fur! lol I love having little girls!

Bird's nest and other trauma!

On Saturday evening we had a couple dramatic occurences at our house. First, I found a bird's nest in the driveway that fell out of a tree. It was neat to see it, but then we found some little blue eggs crushed in the garden under the tree. The windstorm we had blew it out, and girls were especially sad to see the crushed eggs ("dead babies" Erin kept saying). I was wondering if we had nests nearby because we always had Robins flying around our yard.

The next drama we had was that Bailey got shocked by her outlet in her room. Her lamp was slightly unplugged and an anntena cord from her radio touched the metal plug--she then touched the small cord and blew the fuse in her room. Kind of hard to explain, but either way the outlet is black and the fuse was blown and her hand got hurt-not too bad, it made her a bit numb and it more scared her than anything. So we covered her outlet with electrical tape for now (even though it works still) to reassure her until we get a fresh outlet on the wall. Needless to say, it was a traumatic day!

Girl's Camp!

Yay! Girl's camp! Last week was our girl's camp-and it rained everyday for several hours! Our biggest trial was trying to keep the girls and ourselves dry! All of our tents leaked so we had tarps and more tarps coming up the mountain from the ward. Even with all the rain and the cold it was such a good experience and we didn't hear many complaints at all from the girls in our ward. We were frequently blacklisted because of the pranks the girls pulled--and everyone knew it was our ward because the girls do not know the meaning of STEALTH! It was hilarious! They taught me some really fun games (Adam's Family and Big Booty for example) and excepted me as one of their own. It was fun to be a teenager again! :)

Getting ready for our hike--all bundled up in ponchos! It was coming down in buckets! Luckily they cancelled the hike for that day and we were able retreat to semi-dry areas. During this downpour I spent my time out in the rain trying to fix tarps, etc. I was soaked to mid-thigh! I didn't feel dry for hours afterwards! Oh, I love having a house and dry things now! I am so grateful for the opportunity that I had to get to know the young women in my ward and have the experiences I had-being at camp is always such a wonderful time!

Pinky!

Londa and I...

So I have acquired a new nickname from my sister, Londa: Pinky! Today I decided to do something even more dramatic with my hair-pink streaks!! One streak in the front and 2 'peekaboo' streaks in the back. I like it! Won't stay in permanently but easy to fix when it washes out in a couple weeks. I do like to stand out in a crowd and this certainly does that! :)

Londa and Ray (my sister and her husband) came up for lunch and bowling today so I thought I'd include some pictures of my sister and I as well.

My beautiful girls!

Erin's Preschool does a graduation program for all the kids-even those that still have another year of preschool like Erin does. They do such a good job, complete with diplomas, 'cap and gown', balloons, and prizes for the kids. Erin was so cute, when they called her name she walked over and got her paper and then just stood there. The other teacher kept calling her to come sit down on the stage but she just continued standing there staring at the audience-she wouldn't budge! lol After a couple minutes she moved on, but it was sure cute. My little girl is getting big, hard to believe that she will be 4 this summer!
